Women in Property award
Janet Marshall, commercial manager and director of Colliers International North Shore, has been recognised with the Women in Property Award at the Property Council’s Auckland Awards. The judges said Marshall stood out not only for her career, but also because of her contribution to her community.

A substantial 2.93ha site, at 57 Lunns Rd, Middleton, Christchurch, mostly bare land zoned heavy industrial with long-term leases to TR Group and Garden Box Ltd, sold for $10m at a 7.46 per cent yield by Nick O’Styke, Harry Peeters, Bayleys Christchurch; Sunil Bhana, James Hill & Mike Houlker, Bayleys Auckland.
Corner property
A corner property in the Auckland suburb of Pukekohe has sold for $2.8m at a yield of 6.59 per cent. The multi-tenanted property, at 1 Queen St, comprises a 600sq m two-level building on a 1100sq m freehold site. The sale was brokered by Matthew Barnes and Gareth Fraser of Colliers International’s Auckland team.
Industrial premises
1357sq m industrial premises with medium-stud warehousing and roller door access to each of the four tenancies, plus offices/showroom on 2194sq m light industry zoned site at 126 Newton St, Mt Maunganui, sold for $3.65m at a 4.61% yield by Graeme Coleman, Bayleys Tauranga.
Development site
A 15,110sq m development site within the Drury South business park subdivision has sold for $5,061,850. The sale of Lot 16, Block 2, Drury South, was brokered by Matthew Barnes, Paul Jarvie and Brad Johnston of Colliers International.
Refurbished motel
The recently refurbished Bluewave motel, with seven one-bedroom units at 209 Valley Rd, Mt Maunganui, on 1561sq m site, sold as a going concern with fourbedroom manager’s house for $3.12m at Bayleys latest Total Property auctions by Jan Hodges & Brendon Bradley, Bayleys Tauranga.
Showrooms and warehouses
Two adjoining showroom/warehouse properties in the Napier industrial suburb of Onekawa have sold for $1,806,000 at a yield of 6.25 per cent. The properties, at 79 and 81 Austin St, have a total building area of 895sq m on a 2132sq m combined site. The deal was brokered by Danny Blair and Rob Nankervis of Colliers International Hawke’s Bay.
Childcare centre
A 409sq m childcare centre licensed for 90 children with 15-year lease from March 2018 to Choice Kids, on 1831sq m mixed housing urban zoned site at 52 Alfriston Rd, Manurewa East, sold for $3m at 7.02 per cent yield by Tony Chaudhary, Janak Darji & Amy Weng, Bayleys South Auckland.
Petrol station
A prominent corner site leased to a Gull self-service petrol station in the Tauranga suburb of Bethlehem has sold for $1,726,000 at a yield of 6.5 per cent. The sale, by asking price, of 2 Te Paeroa Rd was transacted by Simon Clark and Duncan Woodhouse of Colliers International Tauranga.
