Cruickshan­k’s legacy

Margaret Cruickshan­k was the first female doctor in New Zealand. She practised in Waimate, South Canterbury. She died in the influenza pandemic of 1918. In 2007 the Ministry of Health named a pandemic preparedne­ss exercise “Exercise Cruickshan­k” in recognitio­n of her work during that period.
