‘Phase two’ of France reopening
France is to reopen bars, cafs and restaurants and lift travel restrictions inside the country from next week as part of “phase two” of its lockdown exit plan, it was announced yesterday. It will also remove border restrictions with European countries without quarantine measures from June 15 except for people coming from countries with their own regimes, including Britain, where rules will be reciprocal. Cafes and restaurants will reopen starting on Tuesday, June 2, with customers a metre apart in tables of no more than 10 people. Staff will have to wear masks, as will customers. In all of “green zone” mainland France, venues will be open inside and out, except Paris, which remains “orange” due to infection concerns. In the capital, eating and drinking will only be allowed on outside terraces until June 22.
