BurgerFuel store an opportunity to get taste of Cuba St

-

BurgerFuel, a well-established fast food franchise with 57 locations around the country, is offering up one of its most popular stores for sale.

The BurgerFuel business in Cuba Street, Wellington, is being brought to the market by Jacinta Saeki and James Sheppard from ABC Business Sales.

The business is surrounded by vintage shops, night cafes and bars, with Cuba Street one of the go-to spots for locals and visitors to in Wellington.

“Cuba Street is a street that never sleeps. It’s always alive late at night with people congregating at groovy bars and live music venues. This BurgerFuel benefits from waves of customers all through the night to the early morning” Saeki says.

The 191 Cuba Street store was established in 2011, and well fitted out to meet the BurgerFuel Group’s high standards. There is seating capacity for around 30 patrons with a mix of tables, chairs, and booths. The business benefits from a large customer catchment, attracting workers, shoppers, residents, locals, students, and tourists. Annual sales have exceeded 1 million dollars and the rent to sales ratio is also very attractive, sitting at a comfortable 8.6 percent.

The Cuba Street store would be relatively easy to run for a new owner and most of all, food or hospitality expertise is not required as full training is provided.

“BurgerFuel is one of NZ’s most iconic franchises. It’s proven business model that features dedicated systems and support in place for franchisees, ensures that there is a safety net for a new owner, even in these uncertain times,” says Sheppard.

Stores across the country run at a higher level when they have an owner-operator, so there is great room for growth as the business model is elevated when a hands-on owner manages the store, saving on wages while driving sales and profits. The store's current owner feels like it is time to simplify after 9 years with multiple businesses. However, they are prepared to support the new owner with a period of assistance to facilitate a seamless transition.

“BurgerFuel Cuba is in an eclectic location, surrounded by a strong sense of culture and character,” Saeki says.

The first BurgerFuel store opened in Ponsonby in 1995 and the franchise has since grown to become one of the country’s most popular burger joints.

The company serves made-toorder gourmet burgers in well-fit out stores whose theme centers around classic cars.

“The passion behind the products, people, and promotions set the brand apart from anything else in the fastcasual food category,” says Sheppard.
