Multiple options on picturesque coastal farm
A stunning Banks Peninsula waterfront farm that doubles as a bed and breakfast is being sold by its owners.
Te Pohue Farm is tucked into a sheltered private bay, under an hour’s drive south- east of Christchurch, and spans 306.6 hectares at 440 Camp Bay Road.
The coastal farm currently carries
1,000 Perendale ewes with 40 Angus cattle, and also has accommodation for up to 25 guests.
Broker Nick Young of Colliers International, who is marketing the property in conjunction with George Morris, says the current owners have invested a large amount of time and capital into upgrading Te Pohue.
“Tracking has been upgraded for easy access. Fencing is now to a very high standard and the upgrading of the water reticulation makes for ease of farm management.”
The property is for sale by auction on November 26.
With 5km of coastline, including two golden beaches, the property features a private two- storey homestead that looks out to Lyttelton Harbour and Godley Head and comprises four bedrooms, a new bathroom, and recently updated kitchen.
Dating back to the 1930s, the accommodation options also include a sleepout, and two historic buildings – the Fisherman Hut next to Camp Bay and the old schoolhouse, built in
1883, in Little Port Cooper.
“Te Pohue has been used as a bed and breakfast so there’s the option for a new owner to lease out the farmland and concentrate on the hospitality aspect. Alternatively, an owner could just enjoy living in the homestead and lease out the farm and other accommodation.”
