AUT offers staff deal
Auckland University of Technology staff are being asked to consider taking a “voluntary enhanced leaving package” as part of a response to significant pay fall because of the Covid- 19 pandemic. An email to staff yesterday said those in permanent academic, professional or allied jobs, who had served 20 years or are paid NZ Government superannuation would be eligible. A spokeswoman for AUT said it was not a redundancy plan but an offer for long- serving staff who might wish to leave with an enhanced package in view of the “substantial reduction in income in 2021 due to lower international student numbers”.
