No. I’ll be combative here and say we don’t need any more utes, and turning a car into a ute is an abomination, though Aussie golfer Stuart Appleby did it with a 2003 BMW M5. Only a pro golfer would (and should) do that!

We’re always banging on about the Toyota Corolla being one of the few actual cars in the top-sellers’ list among utes and SUVs. But I’d love to see a South American-style “half tonne” ute based on the current Corolla. A hybrid perhaps?

Unlike Dean, I love a good ute, and strongly believe that the hole left by the HSV Maloo needs to be filled. Obviously, a Mustang-based ute would be awesome but, if we were going for similar performance, surely Shelby should give us a GT500 ute!
