HOLY TRINITY of hypercars on show

Starship Supercar Show to feature everything from Ferrari F40 to McLaren Speedtail

-

Some of the most expensive supercars ever built will be descending upon Giltrap Group’s home on Great North Rd this month for the Supercar Show, raising funds for Starship Children's Hospital.

The list includes the McLaren Speedtail, making its local debut, along with the “holy trinity of hypercars”: McLaren P1, Porsche 918 and LaFerrari.

Michael Giltrap, joint managing director of Giltrap Group, says: “The Starship Supercar Show perfectly sums up what Giltrap Group is about. We love cars, and we have a long history supporting Starship. I am genuinely excited not only to be part of this event, but as a car fan.”

Lamborghini will be well represented, with a Miura, Countach, Diablo, Murcielago and Aventador SVJ all set to appear.

More than 80 other awesome cars are on the list, including the Aston Martin Vulcan and Bugatti Veyron. A Ferrari F40 will make an appearance, as will the new mid-engined Chevrolet Corvette and Ford GT.

There will even be some genuine race cars on display, such as Michael Schumacher’s Benetton F1 car, Mad Mike Whiddett’s Lamborghini Huracan “Nimbul” drift car and the Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3, which won the New Zealand Endurance Championship.

Aisha Daji Punga, Starship Foundation chief executive, says: “We are thrilled to be partnering with the Giltrap Group for this event, which is bound to bring much joy to car enthusiasts, while raising vital funds to bring brighter futures to the children of NZ.”

The show will be held on Sunday, April 11, in six limited-number, 90-minute sessions, to allow space to appreciate the cars. Tickets are $10 for children 13 and under, $20 for Gold Card holders and $25 for adults. Buy online at supercarshow.co.nz.

Every ticket sold goes into the draw to win the ultimate hot lap experience of three laps in the Aston Martin Vulcan at Highlands Motorsport Park, which includes flights, a rental car, accommodation for two and a VIP lunch in the GT Lounge at Highlands.
