Shadbolt in IT dispute

Invercargill mayor Sir Tim Shadbolt is in an ongoing dispute with his council over his IT training. Shadbolt claims he has had several requests for one-onone IT training denied by his own council, but data the Invercargill City Council released to the Otago Daily Times under the Official Information Act revealed Shadbolt was the only elected member who did not take part in digital training. A council spokeswoman said the training was offered to Shadbolt, but he said his requests for one-on-one IT training were denied.
