Starship Supercar Show to feature everything from Ferrari F40 to McLaren Speedtail
Three cars boasting top speeds in excess of 400km/h will headline the Giltrap Group Starship Supercar Show tomorrow. Taking place at the Group’s home on Great North Rd in Auckland, the event is raising funds for Starship Children's Hospital.
The “400 Club” includes the Bugatti Veyron (408km/h), McLaren Speedtail (403km/h) and the impossibly exotic Koenigsegg Agera S Hundra (400km/h) – a special model built to celebrate the maker’s 100th customer car.
The list of show cars also includes the “holy trinity of hypercars”: McLaren P1,
Porsche 918 and LaFerrari.
Michael Giltrap, joint managing director of Giltrap Group, says: “The Starship Supercar Show perfectly sums up what Giltrap Group is about. We love cars, and we have a long history supporting Starship. I am genuinely excited not only to be part of this event, but as a car fan.”
Lamborghini will be well represented, with a Miura, Countach, Diablo, Murcielago and Aventador SVJ all set to appear.
More than 80 other awesome cars are on the list too, including the Aston Martin Vulcan and Bugatti Veyron. A Ferrari F40 will make an appearance, as will the new midengined Chevrolet Corvette and Ford GT.
There will even be some genuine race cars on display, such as Michael Schumacher’s Benetton F1 car, Mad Mike Whiddett’s Lamborghini Huracan “Nimbul” drift car and the Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3, which won the New Zealand Endurance Championship.
The show will be held tomorrow in six limited-number, 90-minute sessions to allow space to appreciate the cars.
Tickets are $10 for children 13 and under, $20 for Gold Card holders and $25 for adults. You can buy them at supercarshow.co.nz.
