Two arrested in firearms incident

Two people have been arrested after several Palmerston North schools were locked down for about 20 minutes yesterday following reports that a firearm was “possibly discharged” nearby. The armed offenders squad was called about 11am. Roslyn School posted on its Facebook page it had been told it was not in imminent danger and asked parents not to collect their children. “They are all safe.”
