The land and warehouse previously housing a glazing and window installation company in one of Auckland’s foremost suburban industrial hubs are on the market.

The 599sq m premises at 37 Porana Rd, Wairau Valley, comprises an open-plan high stud warehousing space accessed through a roller door, with adjacent internal ground-floor showroom space and staff amenities, with an office upstairs.

The address has been tenanted by United Glass and Glazing which is moving to new premises. The building will be sold as vacant.

Porana Rd and surrounding Sunnybrae Rd, Archers Rd and Wairau Rd make up one of the North Shore’s biggest and longeststanding industrial hubs sustaining hundreds of small light industrial tenants, car yards and several big box retailers — all benefitting from the location and low vacancy rates.

Sitting on some 994sq m of freehold land zoned Business – Light Industry, the rectangular-shaped property is being marketed for sale by auction on July 30 through Barfoot & Thompson Commercial, North Shore.

Salespeople David Herron and Chase Erceg said the premises would attract interest from both owner-occupiers and investors looking to tenant the warehouse, which has a sealed area at the front of the building with parking for up to 16 vehicles.

“In its current open-plan format, the warehousing space is ideally laid out to continue operating in the building trades field. However, it could just as easily accommodate a small showroom operation showcasing the likes of pleasure craft or pursuits,” Herron said.

“Alternatively, the property could be bought as the basis for a redevelopment opportunity. Subject to appropriate consents, there is under-utilised space at the front of the building which could be developed to increase the floor plate both out, and up, expanding the existing profile considerably.”
