Protester up for trespass


A Waiheke Island marina protester appeared in the Auckland District Court yesterday on trespass charges . Warren Matahaere was arrested when police officers broke up a group of protesters who had been camping on a floating pontoon, attempting to stop constructi­on of a 186-berth marina at Kennedy Pt. Matahaere will next appear in court on September 2. Protect P¯utiki has raised more than $15,000 for its fight against the 186-berth marina under constructi­on at Kennedy Pt.
