As Auckland in general comes to terms with a slowdown in price growth and sales activity, certain areas are continuing to hold their own in the face of current uncertainty.
The vendor of 314 Victoria Avenue says that the previous owner simply wouldn’t recognise the Jazmax-designed cedar and concrete property now and most particularly the interior after extensive renovations carried out over the last six or seven years.
“Basically, we have changed almost everything, and our focus included using the most high-quality materials available to put our own stamp on the home,” he says.

With their children having now left home, he and his wife are looking for a smaller property somewhere nearby.
“I don’t think we’ll be going too far though because we’ve really enjoyed the strong community spirit in this neighbourhood – we meet down at Wilson’s Beach at the end of the street for a barbecue and a wine on the sand and we have other regular catch-ups throughout the year, including annual mangrove pulls.
