Fake buyer steals Audi

-

An Auckland man was left stranded on the side of a Mt Wellington road after two people test-driving his Audi took off with the vehicle. The seller, who wished to remain anonymous, said he’d been trying to sell his Audi online when a man contacted him via text to arrange a viewing. They met at a Mt Wellington petrol station on Wednesday night and the seller put $60 worth of fuel into the vehicle before joining the would-be-buyer and his partner on a test drive. But then the buyer pulled over and popped the bonnet, complaining of a “tapping sound” — then jumped in the car and sped off.
