Home to roost

-

In New Zealand today, one needs a licence, permit or some other sort of permission for just about everything one does, except for having children.

Incompetent, untrained, disinterested, and disconnected parents are responsible for the bulk of all the ills society experiences. And we point the finger at those trying to clean the mess up, like schoolteachers.

The home should be the greatest classroom. That's where our future selves are created and developed. Unfortunately for too many the home has become a house of horrors, where all the wrong things are learned, which perpetuate into the next generation and so on.

What show have we got with climate change, for example, when we can't even get the simple things right?
