Person hurt in house blaze

A person has been injured after a fire tore through a house in Manurewa yesterday. The alarm was raised shortly after 9am. St John said the victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at the Mahia Rd property. Police said the fire was not being treated as suspicious. At the height of the blaze plumes of smoke could be seen several kilometres away across across Auckland’s Southern Motorway. The house was extensively damaged.
