Red Kitchens ready to fire up once more

-

Two separately operating foodservice operations located near one of New Zealand’s busiest rail trails have been placed on the market.

The two venues in the Thames Valley town of Paeroa were closed shortly after the second Covid-19 lockdown in August 2021 but have been maintained immaculately and are ready to become functioning businesses. A side gate and private sealed right-of-way link the two premises.

Known as the Red Tractor Kitchen & Deli’, and the Red Tractor Caf, the two premises comprise virtually all the required commercial infrastructure and chattels to serve up food and beverages.

The Kitchen & Deli’ is located at 4 Arney St and previously sold takeaway foods along with gourmet offerings such as pickles, chutneys, cheeses and accompaniments.

On a 331sq m site, the business is housed in a 54sq m building whose interior decor replicates a provincial French farmhouse deli.

Included with the sale is a shipping container used as storage and a recently added utility building configured for office use.

The building dates from the 1880s when it was established as a butchery.

Around the corner at 124 Normanby Rd, Red Tractor Caf served cabinet food, teas and coffees with seating for 34 indoors and in a private courtyard.

The eatery was housed in a 120sq m building on a 151sq m site in the middle of a retail block.

With a large commercial production kitchen at the rear of the premises, the Kitchen & Deli’ produced virtually all the menu items sold at the more high-profile cafe.

Normanby Rd is the main arterial route through Paeroa with 9500 daily vehicle movements in both directions.

At the intersection of SH2 and SH 26, Paeroa has prospered since a leg of the Hauraki Rail Trail cycle route opened in 2013.

The two freehold properties and chattels are for sale by tender through Bayleys Waikato, closing on November 3.
