Meth-smuggling charges
Two baggage handlers at Auckland International Airport have been accused of attempting to smuggle in 4.6kg of methamphetamine. Customs said the drugs, with a street value of up to $870,000, were in a backpack that arrived on Air New Zealand flight NZ5 from Los Angeles on November 11. Two men, aged 23 and 19, have been jointly charged with importing meth and will appear in the Manukau District Court on Monday.
