Work, store, play: new units being hatched at the Mount

-

When developers set out to design The Hatch–The Mount, they wanted to create an exciting commercial hub that embodied the concept of work, store, play.

With that in mind, the micro-unit development in the centre of Mt Maunganui will offer purchasers the chance to secure a highly functional workspace that will suit a wide range of needs.

The Hatch–The Mount at 24-32 MacDonald St will comprise 38 units ranging from 60-106sq m. Most units will come with two carparks, with additional parking available for lease. Construction is set to get under way in the middle of next year.

The site is surrounded by amenities such as a gym, supermarket and childcare centres and is situated in a key industrial precinct by the flyover, only minutes from the town centre and Bayfair Shopping Centre.

The Hatch will be organised into four blocks with a large carpark at the rear. Two main carriageways – flanked by the light industrial units that run along the boundary on each side – are accessed from dual entrances off MacDonald St.

They are linked by a lane that provides access to the office-styled units and the rear of the retail-styled units that run along the street front.

Colliers brokers Simon Clark and Rob Schoeser are marketing The Hatch with units priced from $754,000 plus GST, if any.

Matt Allen from Cube Architecture has produced a thoughtful design that facilitates easy circulation around the precinct but also energises the public space from the orientation of the different unit types.

Open roller-doors and the units’ eclectic interiors will offer a constant buzz to the main carriageways, while the offices will enjoy a calmer outlook to the lane.

Clark says the units will provide a futurefocused workspace for businesses who want to optimise their productivity. “Like its sister development in Papamoa, The Hatch—The Mount is an innovative, design-led precinct that fuses commercial and light industrial into hybrid workspaces perfect for forwardthinking businesses.

“Whether you’re setting up a new venture, looking for more versatile premises, or simply need somewhere to store your toys, The Hatch—The Mount offers a unique solution at a competitive price point.”

Schoeser says the location will be highly appealing.

“The Hatch is situated just off the Hewletts Rd intersection near SH2 providing easy connectivity between Mt Maunganui, Tauranga CBD and Papamoa. It is within 5km of the region’s major transport hubs, with easy access to the port and airport.”
