Luxury retail and more in Ponsonby

-

JLL and Match Realty are presenting Pompallier on Ponsonby, a new fivelevel retail, hospitality and residential offering at the corner of Pompallier Tce and Ponsonby Rd.

They say the new development will appeal to businesses seeking a flagship presence in an affluent Auckland area, or those looking for a brand-new space to set up shop.

Rodd and Gunn, including a Lodge Bar, is the anchor tenancy and will be the retailer’s flagship New Zealand store across 452sq m of retail space and 80sq m of al fresco dining.

Another premium international retailer has signed on in a 323sq m space, with another 144sq m area now available and suited to a fashion or retail store.

Two additional spaces have been assigned for hospitality, one over 157sq m that includes a 93sq m covered terrace, and another 67sq m space that features laneway seating, perfect as a high-end caf or bakery.

Businesses that secure these new sites will benefit from the reputation of Ponsonby as a premier Auckland suburb, plus take advantage of the future residential and hotel operation above the ground floor.

There will be two penthouses, as well as 10 apartments once development is complete, with four already sold.

The developers have held the release of the hospitality and office space until certainty of commencement and completion dates were obtained.

With building consents imminent and the contractor appointed, the project is expected to start shortly and open by Christmas 2025.

JLL has been appointed alongside Match Realty to market the retail and hospitality spaces for lease.

JLL retail sales and leasing director Ranesh Parmar points to Ponsonby's variety and reputation, as well as the tenancy with Rodd and Gunn, as drivers for the development.

“Ponsonby is one of Auckland’s premier shopping and dining destinations, featuring some of the city’s best restaurants and bars, as well as flagship stores for leading retailers,” says Parmar.

“Pompallier on Ponsonby will be a premium mixed-use space that brings more of New Zealand’s top businesses into one desirable location, in addition to the highquality retailers that will be a major drawcard to the area.”

Match Realty director Mike Hammer says developments of this scale take into consideration the catchment needs of the area in which they are being created. “Redefining the existing building on the corner of Pompallier Tce and Ponsonby Rd was critical to making this project meaningful to the community, a nod to the historic Three Lamps area of the suburb.

"By honouring the heritage of the area, in combination with modern design elements, Pompallier on Ponsonby fosters sustainability at its core and creates a true laneway experience.”

The development will feature over

70 basement carparks including a number of EV charging stations and a

100 per cent NBS rating.
