Strike anomalies

On one hand, Kiwis support a noisy, greedy bunch of people who happily strike with no concern for the chaos their actions are causing to families of schoolchildren. And, at the same time, teachers are being offered far and above what they deserve.

On the other hand, Kiwis are furious that a second bunch of people are preparing to strike in an effort to stop their current working conditions from being eroded.

Clearly, teachers can hold the country to ransom and disrupt children’s education and Kiwis think that is acceptable. But God defend any group that dares to interfere with Kiwis’ holiday plans. CHRIS CLOUGH
