Preschooler mourned

A school in Manurewa, South Auckland observed a minute’s silence yesterday morning to pay respects to a preschooler who died at Mountford Park on Thursday night. James Cook School is close to where the 4-year-old was killed in an accident with a rugby scrum machine. It’s the second tragedy of its kind in less than a decade. In 2009, a niece of former All Black Kevan Mealamu was crushed and killed by a similar machine. he death has been referred to the coroner and Manurewa Rugby club and police are investigating.
