Just over four years ago, Dr Josephine Miles and her colleagues (Dr Paula Brown and Dr Will Stewardson-Hill) bought the five clinics that made up GMC Chiropractors. Despite the pandemic, the trio have forged on with their plans of expansion and development. During this same period Jo has also become a Mum to two boys - which has inspired her to expand operational focus to family friendly and family focussed care (which includes a family friendly fee schedule).

GMC - Great Minds Chiropractic - now consists of eight clinics: New Plymouth, Stratford, Hawera, Waverley, Whanganui, Feilding, Palmerston North and Levin.

It is staffed by 12 Chiropractors, 13 Chiropractic Assistants and has x-ray facilities in five of the locations.

Jo’s focus in the business has been to create a consistent patient experience across the group and between the Chiropractors (who all bring different skills and expertise). It is crucial that patients have a clear understanding of their condition, their prognosis as well as providing them with effective tools to take charge of their own health. Patients are given a personalised report at the start of their Chiropractic journey that includes a postural analysis, a health and wellbeing analysis and x-rays (where appropriate). This report also includes their homecare/ lifestyle advice to assist them in rehabilitation. Our Chiropractic Assistants help patients achieve their health goals by making it as easy as possible to attend appointments offering a variety of appointment times to suit most schedules. Vitally, the team is committed to ensuring that people in need are able to access same or next day appointments particularly in our rural locations where it may be several weeks before people can access other forms of healthcare.
