Whanganui Midweek

Businesses wanted

-

Local district councillor and Town Centre Regeneration chairwoman Helen Craig is calling for new businesses to be established in the CBD.

Whanganui wants a baker, shoe repairer and quality engraver. Anyone out there wanting a great business in a growing economy should investigate Whanganui — we want YOU.

A Bakers Delight or similar franchise located in the CBD would meet demand for speciality breads.

Whanganui is also in love with shoes and has numerous fabulous shoe shops but with no local shoe repairer, we are travelling to Palmerston North for this service.

A quality engraver for trophies would meet high demand from schools, clubs and general businesses.

There are an abundance of small shops in the heritage town centre that would suit these businesses.

Councillor Craig is asking locals to spread the word around New Zealand to attract new citizens to our district and establish new businesses. Whanganui has been growing steadily and the town centre retail area is filling up, so this is the chance to open a new enterprise while there is still room! Whanganui has a growing reputation as a significant centre for heritage and arts and one of the most attractive places to live and raise a family.

■ Anyone interested should contact Rhonda Morris at Whanganui & Partners, on 027 5870072 at the Innovation Centre in St Hill Street, or contact Helen Craig on 021 1030737.
