The following organisati­ons and individual­s received funding in the first round of the Creative Communitie­s Scheme 2018-19:

• Angela Crawford – $2333 for Whanganui Celebrates Internatio­nal Jazz Day 2019

• Claudia Borella Glass Design Ltd – $1637.60 towards the cost of hosting a glass fusing workshop by Morgan Madison (Seattle)

• Dan Mills – $2000 for the second stage of the mural on Castleclif­f Camp Store / Rangiora St

• Kay Benseman – $1911 for the production of a children’s pepeha (a personal introducti­on in te reo Māori) book

• Pull Down The Sun band – $3000 towards the cost of production of a music video

• Shanti Sibbing – $1770 for Whanganui Walls mentorship, a youth mentoring programme to run alongside the Whanganui Walls Street Art Festival

• Friends of Christ Church Organ – $920 for a recital by Martin Setchell

• Rebecca Holden – $315 towards the cost of gallery hire for A Home Away From Home exhibition

• Sarah Thompson – $4200 to run animation workshops and screenings for rural Whanganui children.
