Three of Whanganui District Library’s finest are bristling with enthusiasm to grow their moustaches this Movember to raise funds and awareness for men’s health. Neddal Ayyad, Isiaha Barlow and Jordan Rees – aka The Keepers of the Mo – have raised $188 as of Monday this week (already a hair’s breadth from their goal of $200) to support projects and research into prostate and testicular cancers and suicide prevention through the Movember Foundation. The team started with a “clean slate” on 2 November, and their hirsute progress is going well. They’re using surfer ’staches for motivation – Jordan is aiming for “The Maverick”, Isiaha, “The Creative”, and Neddal, “The Legend” – and Origins Cafe is helping with caffeine support to increase growth rates.
