Watt Street site re-opens in New Year

The tem­po­rary Whanganui Re­gional Mu­seum at 62 Ridg­way Street has closed its doors to pre­pare for the move back to the mu­seum build­ing in Watt Street, which has been seis­mic strength­ened.

The Ridg­way Street space op­er­ated as a small satel­lite mu­seum dur­ing the work. In­stal­la­tion of new ex­hi­bi­tions is in its fi­nal stages and it is time to in­stall vis­i­tor re­cep­tion and ad­min­is­tra­tion spa­ces back to the Watt Street build­ing.

The mu­seum will re-open its doors to the pub­lic on Satur­day, 19 Jan­uary 2019.

The Ar­chive Re­search Ser­vice closed tem­po­rar­ily this month and will re-open on Mon­day, 4 Fe­bru­ary 2019.
