Whanganui Midweek

Shift your own thinking and things will change

- With Carla Langmead

Things I’ve learnt this year:

■ 1. Not everybody or everything is as they appear to be.

■ 2. Don’t clip your wings when you’re meant to soar.

■ 3. Some people come into your life to remind you where you DON’T want to be.

■ 4. We can’t lose what we never had in the first place.

■ 5. Everything is relative.

■ 6. Look for the koha — it’s always present.

■ 7. When we shift our thinking — things can change around us.

■ 8. We are captains of our own waka and choose where we travel.

■ 9. There is no time limit with grief.

■ 10. Life can be unpredictable — but things will always pass and new things WILL happen.

■ 11. Be possessed by possibility rather than immobilised by past events.

■ 12. Intention is our compass — point where we want it.

■ 13. Your external environment reminds you who you are — dare to do something different.

■ 14. Energy flows where intention is — choose mindfully.

■ 15. It is nobody else’s responsibility to raise our awareness.

■ 16. Sometimes we have to lose freedom to find it again.

■ 17. Never ever give up — there is always a way through and it’s going to come in the most unexpected way — it has to be unexpected otherwise you would have already chosen it.

■ 18. Look for the feeling not the reason (Thanks Rocky!).

■ 19. We may not be here to “fit in” but rather start something new.

■ 20. People can only “hear” you as far as their own perceptions will take them.

■ 21. The more you can observe yourself, the more dominion you will have over yourself.

■ 22. At least recognise what you DON’T want if you can’t find what you do want.

■ 23. Life is a paradox — we won’t be able to figure everything out.

■ 24. We are more than linear beings.

■ 25. Freedom is a state of mind.

Have a Merry Christmas Midweek readers and thanks again for another great year. I look forward to sharing new learnings and insights in the New Year. Stay present!.. Arohanui

Carla.
