Voting papers for this year’s local elections will be sent to all enrolled voters between Friday,

20 September and Wednesday, 25 September 2019. The elections will be held by postal vote – put your voting paper in the supplied pre-paid envelope and post by Tuesday, 8 October 2019 to ensure it arrives in time. Whanganui District Council is also holding a Vote Day on Saturday, 5 October 2019. Ballot boxes will be located at stations around Whanganui where voters can place their votes – locations and times are:

• Rangiora Street Library, Castleclif­f – 10.00am-12 noon

• Gonville Library, Gonville – 10.00am-12 noon

• Whanganui River Markets, Taupō Quay – 10.00am-12 noon

Aramoho Shopping Centre, Aramoho – 10.00am-12 noon Whanganui East Shopping Centre, Whanganui East – 10.00am-12 noon

Springvale Garden Centre, Springvale – 10.00am-12 noon Trafalgar Square Shopping Centre, Taupō Quay – 1.00pm-3.00pm

Voting in this year’s local elections closes at 12 noon on Saturday, 12 October 2019.

• A new website has been developed to provide an A-to-Z listing of all items the Whanganui Resource Recovery Centre can recycle. A collaborat­ion between Whanganui District Council, Sustainabl­e Whanganui and the Whanganui Resource Recovery Centre, the website also offers informatio­n on ways to reduce, repurpose and recycle items so that less waste is sent to landfill.
