WHANGANUI HAPPENINGS

-

Following the recent closure of the WH Milbank gallery, Heritage Art Auctions is pleased to be offering some fine examples of paintings by the late Whanganui artist Joan Grehan.

Joan Grehan (nee Brodie) was born in Wanganui in 1920 and educated at the Wanganui Girls College before studying at the Canterbury College of Fine Arts. Following the Second World War she left New Zealand, first for Australia and then, in the footsteps of many earlier New Zealand artists, for London in 1954 where she undertook further study.

The auction catalogue is now open for viewing at www.HeritageArtNZ. com. This is an online auction which runs for 10 days with bidding open from 5pm Thursday, October 5. Works by Joan Grehan will be on display at Heritage Art Auctions, Heritage House, 136 St Hill Street from 2pm-4pm this coming Saturday and Sunday. Other times by appointment (027 471 2242). Further artists whose original works are being sold in this 10 day auction include Isabel Field, Pat Hanly, John Drawbridge, Ian Scott, Marilynn Webb, Nugent Welch, Violet Whiteman, George Chance and numerous others.
