Rachel is the Maternity Quality Safety Program (MQSP) Coordinato­r at Te Whatu Ora Whanganui. Rachel works on quality improvemen­t projects that will improve experience­s for Whanganui families. Most recently this has been the developmen­t of a website, Te Kā kano, and also, together with the dental services team, a project delivering dental hygiene for pregnant women. Rachel is a nurse and midwife. After spending some years in Wellington she returned to Whanganui and has focussed mostly on patient safety and the MQSP work. Rachel is keen to share Te Kā kano and the Dental Project with consumers locally and to get their thoughts and ideas for other maternity related quality projects. Tea and Topics will have its usual format, with a hot drink and a biscuit being served between 10am and 10.30am on November 9. The presentati­on will start at 10.30am and there will be ample opportunit­y afterwards to ask questions or share stories.
