Whanganui Midweek

Its all happening at the Commercial

It is going to be a night like no other when five local bands get together for the Clash of the Bands at the Commercial Hotel.

-

It is all happening on Saturday November 25 and the evening will kick off at 3pm6pm with the sound of DJ Deano in the garden bar.

Come 6pm, the Commercial Hotel’s carpark will be the place to be, when the carpark party comes alive!

Bring your deck chairs and brolly and listen and dance to Pop, Rock, R & B, lots of covers and original music. . . there is something for everyone.

Playing will be, Bylaws, Blue Veinz, Hot Potato, The Blues Buffet and Meanowls, all local bands and all who have supported the Commercial

Hotel during the Covid period and since.

They will all be playing some of their best music for the hour they will each be on stage; it is going to be a great night with the stage truck donated for the evening by Dave Hoskin.

This is the Commercial’s way of saying “thank you” to these bands. Your $25 cash entry cost will be going direct to these bands. You also must be over 18 years of age to attend.

There will be two food vendors selling delicious burgers, chips, hotdogs etc and they are using this to fundraise for their selected charities. It is all about supporting the locals!

There will be a cash bar with local craft beer from Lads Brewing available, a water station, Capital Taxis on standby, a registered nurse on hand, as well as those friendly faces from 365 Security. This event has been well organised to ensure a great evening will be had by everyone and you all get safely home when the evening comes to an end at midnight.

Kit Edwards and Steve Lawson who are publicans of the Commercial Hotel, hope this will be the start of many such events.

The Commercial Hotel is Whanganui’s oldest hotel, being built by Thomas Flannery in 1858 on the same site it is on today and traded then under the name of Royal Oak Hotel.

When you enter this family orientated pub, Kit will be there to greet you... because that is what she does! And make sure you also check out their welcoming garden bar.

So, mark your calendar Saturday November 25th and get yourself down to the Commercial Hotel for a night to remember!
