Join Farmers in Supporting HOSPICE

Remember your loved ones and support Hospice at Farmers this Christmas

-

Each year Hospice works in partnership with

Farmers to create a Christmas campaign.

This will be the tenth year in partnership and together they would have raised just under $7 million for hospice services across the country.

Christmas is a time of year when we think of people who won’t be with us during the festive season. They may have died, they may be living overseas or in other parts of the country, or perhaps they just can’t be with us at this time of year. As part of this campaign there are two ways to support

Hospices, while also thinking about those you love.

The Tree of Remembrance

During the Christmas campaign each

Farmers store will have a Tree of

Remembrance. Everyone who makes a donation, during the Christmas period, at a

Farmers will receive a card to place on the tree. They can write a special message to a loved one you are thinking of. The money raised in the Farmers stores, for the Tree of

Remembrance, stays in the community to support their local hospice service.

Limited Edition Bauble

Another great way to support Hospice is to purchase a limited edition, bauble, available in Farmers stores across the country. Every year the beautiful bauble is designed to tell a story about hospice.

Each bauble is $15.99 and thanks to Farmers, the full purchase price of all baubles bought in store is donated to the local hospice.

Christmas campaign 2023

The design of this years bauble is a pōhutukawa. The iconic red flowers bloom each year around Christmas time, earning it the name ‘New Zealand’s Christmas Tree’.

Pōhutukawa is a special symbol of summer found only here in Aoteaora.

This years ‘Pōhutukawa’ bauble reminds us of the significance of the Pōhutukawa design. “Tena Koe Pōhutukawa Aotearoa Rakau Kirihemete You are the beginning and the end of the journey of life Pōhutukawa taonga of old, you care for the spirit of those who have passed away. Oh star of Matariki. Pōhutukawa – we remember them, we reflect on them and we call them by name. May this special Pōhutukawa Christmas bauble be given as a gift of hope, faith and especially love as we remember them.” - Emily Temepo, Hospice Kaiwhina
