Colour and Styles for 2024

- Rachel and Bex

Looking at the 2024 colour forecast from Dulux and we are seeing a gorgeous palette of warm earthy tones in a few of their 2024 schemes. These palettes are inspired by outside influences such as the desert and sunbaked grounds. These delicious colours will be accompanied by heavily textured fabrics and even more curved furniture pieces than what we have seen this year. When looking at these colours such as Dulux “Potters Park” and Dulux “Paekakariki” you will feel as if you are looking at comforting neutrals that are sunbaked and will give a soft glow. Team these colours with gorgeous natural linens that will take the earthy vibe up a notch. Another trend is what Dulux have termed “Imperfect Perfection”. This sees such colours as Dulux “Howick Half” being used on all walls, cocooning the room so it gives a sense of strength and security. Textiles that work well with this scheme will be highly textural fabrics that show slubs, also fabrics such as velvets and suede which are soft and gentle. With cushions add some fringing to them for an extra layer of depth and texture and don’t be afraid to add a chunky wool floor rug to your scheme. This overall scheme will make you want to relax and unwind. The other thing we will be seeing more off is “Natural Style” which will see us mixing cosy and calm styling elements alongside raw natural materials. Sculptured décor items will be featured, and these items will be made from raw and unfinished materials such as stone, concrete, terracotta, clay etc. Dulux “Potters Wall” is a colour to use on all your walls for this scheme.

Another trend is “The Journey Palette” which brings it’s influence from travel, cultural differences, the arts and crafts movement. It showcases lavish and rich midtone colours which will bring through a maximalist and eclectic feel. We will be seeing yellow-greens, deep blues alongside rich reds and plums. Dulux “Carmen” and “Te Anau” along with “Murray’s Bay”. These colours will bring a rich moodiness to your walls and forget a white ceiling, instead go with “Evening Blush” for a contrast. Vintage furniture will be highlighted along with fabric lampshades and patchwork quilts to bring layers of pattern and texture through.

We are looking forward to creating some amazing schemes for our clients in 2024 and if you’re thinking you may need a hand with a makeover then either email or call us!

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone.
