Pantone’s colour of the year – Peach Fuzz

- Rach and Bex

For the past 25 years Pantone have put out a colour of the year and this year their colour of the year is Peach Fuzz. I am delighted to see a move away from the greens and blues which have been dominant over the last ten years to this delightful warm gentle colour. Peach Fuzz has us swooning with the endless possibilities of how she can work on the interiors and exteriors of projects. For those that know me I will still be using Greens in my schemes if they fit the project

Peach Fuzz is a light, delicate shade that sits between pink and orange. This soft, heartfelt hue expresses the desire to nurture kindness, compassion, and connection—all while fostering a deep coziness as we seek a peaceful future. I think the timing of this colour to make her debut is spot on as we enter a year that feels calmer for many already after the very hectic and confusing past three years we have navigated through. As a child I remember my Mother’s favourite colour being apricot. She loved the gentleness and warmth that it gave a space. She had it in a floral wallpaper and in curtains in our dining room and now many moons later I see her favourite colour coming through but with a modern twist and a name that is a little cooler.

If you are wondering how to incorporate this colour into your schemes, then think splashback tiles. At the end of last year, I renovated my kitchen, and the splash back is very much in keeping with the Peach Fuzz vibe. It brings a gentle cosiness that is inviting and warm for those in the space and exudes an earthiness that is calming and grounding. Think wall colour and go the entire room not just one statement wall here and accessories, such as vases, cushions, planters. This colour will work wonderfully in southern rooms of your home to bring in warmth. For exteriors think plants, Springvale Garden Centre are all over this colour and will be able to help you with your selections to bring some Peach Fuzz trend into your gardens. Also look at repainting some of your exterior plant pots so they Peach Fuzz brings in another element of connection. Bex is on hand here in the studio to help anyone needing colour advice and guidance so if you are wanting to add in some Peach Fuzz then please contact us. Have a great month everyone.
