Tips to enhance your interiors

- Rach and Bex

With the change in weather and thought of Autumn fast approaching I thought this month would be a great time to share some tips and tricks as before we know it, we will be spending more time inside. I hope you enjoy these tips and if you need help with anything then please contact us as Bex and I can do anything from one hour consultations through to full renovations as well as the supply of furniture, soft furnishings, wallpapers, lighting etc. Tips: * Mixing different styles prevents your space from feeling sterile, it will add depth and intrigue. Don’t be fixated on one style such as Maximilist or Scandinavian. Interest comes from mixing things up and honouring what makes your heart and soul sing *When styling, layer your accessories, ensuring a balance between statement pieces and simpler items to avoid overwhelming the eye. *Just like the texture- rich outdoors, incorporate various textures in your accessories for depth and visual interest *Use natural textures wherever possible *Use feather and down cushion inners to give your cushions fullness as synthetic inners will flatten and become lifeless *A reminder to consider your curtains and window treatments from the outside not only the inside *The colours you choose need to go with your home’s interior and exterior colours, make sure there is a cohesive feel not a clash *Aim to create a seamless transition from the inside out as this will enhance the curb appeal of your home and it will ensure your home exudes style both inside and out *Repetition is important when utilising colours and shapes. Repetition will give a cohesive atmosphere and will tie everything together which will give a sense of unity and balance *To create a grand entrance think less is more, think big, think storage solutions, think statement art, and expand your doors presence. I will expand more on the entrance in next months article. *Don’t follow trends as trends come and go, find your own flavour and embrace it whole heartedly * If creating a home office then embrace natural light * A Home office needs to stay organized so think about storage solutions *Connect with nature in your office by bringing in plants or being able to have a good visual connection with the outdoors.

This will create a more positive mind set * The power of lighting is often under estimated so give plenty of thought to various layers of light in your rooms. Think downlights, floor lamps, table lamps, pendant lights, wall sconces and of course natural light. Enjoy these tips and have a great month everyone.
