Fox backs se­ries

Mo­tor­cy­cling NZ has con­firmed a four-round for­mat for the 2019 Mo­tocross Nationals. With new nam­ing rights spon­sor­ship from Fox Rac­ing, the New Zealand Mo­tocross Cham­pi­onship will start at the Taranaki Mo­tor­cy­cle Club’s Bar­rett Rd track near New Ply­mouth on Sun­day Fe­bru­ary 3.

Round two is at the Ro­torua Mo­tor­cy­cle Club’s Horo­horo track on Sun­day Fe­bru­ary 17 with a one week gap to the third round at Pukekohe Mo­tor­cy­cle Club Har­risville track on Sun­day Fe­bru­ary 4.

Taupo’s Dig­ger Mcewen MX Park re­tains the fi­nal round on Sun­day March 10. Na­tional ti­tles will be con­tested in the MX1 (450cc), MX2 (250cc) and 125cc 2-stroke cat­e­gories. One reg­u­la­tion

change for the 2019 se­ries will see 250cc 2-stroke bikes moved into the MX1 class.

The tim­ing of the se­ries al­lows in­ter­na­tional rid­ers to use the New Zealand Cham­pi­onship as prepa­ra­tion for the 2019 Aus­tralian MX Nationals raced over 10 rounds which will start on March 17.
