With her marriage in free fall, Victoria Beckham went into her 10th New York Fashion Week hell-bent on proving her doubters wrong. Making sure that husband David and their media-savvy kids were available for every possible photo opportunity, the 43-year-old was reportedly on a mission to convince the world that Team Beckham B is stronger than ever.
But according to well-placed sources, s Victoria and David, 42, were w barely on speaking terms in the th Big Apple, even opting to sleep apart. a In fact, those close to them fear fe that their crumbling marriage is just the tip of the iceberg and that each e of the superstars are locked in their own midlife crises.
“Things are not good at all,” reveals r an insider. “Posh hadn’t spoken s to David for days before he h arrived in New York, apart from over o text to communicate about the th kids. So as soon as he landed, the th tension between them was at an a all-time high.
“They had separate hotel rooms. Victoria V was telling anyone who asked a that she was suffering from insomnia in and didn’t want to disturb David, D but the real reason was they can c barely be in the same room without w breaking into a huge row. They T can’t agree on anything and neither n of them can see a happy future fu together. It’s heartbreaking.”
The insider says the 18-year marriage m is now nothing more than t a “showmance”, with the Beckhams’ B supposed desperation for f fame and attention coming before b anything else.
“Posh was desperately trying to sugar-coat s the situation by posting romantic r Valentine’s snaps on Instagram,” I the source tells. “But she s complained to pals that David seemed s distant and completely void v of emotion. While he may
have been sitting in the front row cheering her on as a doting husband, behind closed doors, it was a very different story.
“They went for a family dinner and they were making snide remarks at one another, but as soon as David noticed a camera, he’d drape his arms over Victoria and kiss her in this show of being the perfect couple – and family.”

As reported in Woman’sDay recently, Victoria is believed to be fuming over David’s decision to move to Miami permanently after setting up a Major League Soccer team there – and he’s been spotted frequently partying in Florida with his football player pals.
According to our insider, Posh’s shock decision to reunite with the Spice Girls was, in fact, an attempt to grab the limelight back from her husband.
“For years, Vic has vowed that she’d never go back to the Spice Girls,” tells the insider. “So this really did come out of the blue and you do have to question the timing
so close to David’s big news.”
As reports emerge that each member could earn $20 million in appearance fees for one-off performances, another reason for the U-turn is Victoria’s anxiety over money, claims a source. In December, it was revealed that Victoria’s fashion label made a loss of $16 million in 2016, with David’s company bailing it out.
“Posh would be devastated if her fashion business failed, so if it means joining up with the Spice Girls again to raise some muchneeded cash, then so be it,” says the source. “Basically, Victoria is in a bit of a mess. Emotionally, she just can’t believe that her marriage is on the brink of failing. She really believed she’d grow old with David, but she says now that it’s like he’s a different person.
“Victoria is sick of putting on a front for the public and having to keep up the façade for the sake of Brand Beckham. She’s hit rock bottom and isn’t sure her marriage is salvageable. There’s only so long she can keep up the façade before she cracks.”
