LADY LAURA MEADE

The daughter of the eighth Earl of Romney, Laura is also the wife of William’s close friend James, who delivered a speech at the prince’s 2011 wedding reception. William returned the favour when James married Laura in 2013.

GUY PELLY

A few eyebrows were raised when Guy was announced as a godparent – h his name usually comes up only w when William or his brother are in hot water! When Harry was caught dressing as a Nazi to a costume party, Guy was by his side dressed as the Queen. Controversial!

LUCY M MIDDLETON

K Kate’s cousin, a high-flying solicitor and t the daughter of Michael Middleton’s brother Richard, has always been close to the duchess, with the pair learning Italian together during their gap year in Florence. Her brother Adam is one of Charlotte’s godparents.

NICHOLAS VAN CUTSEM

The son of one of Charles’ university buddies, he’s known William since they were small boys and is one of the prince’s trusted friends. These days, he’s an international business developer, but he was formerly a major with the Household Cavalry’s Life Guards.

HARRY AUBREYFLETCHER

A son of Sir Henry AubreyFletcher, William’s longtime friend attended both Ludgrove School and Eton College with the prince. As befits his privileged background, he now works in mergers and acquisitions at US banking firm JP Morgan.

HANNAH CARTER

She and Kate were boardingschool besties at Marlborough College, where rebel Hannah was caught dancing in her underwear. Their bond was further cemented when Hannah married William’s pal Robert Carter in 2012. They live in Norfolk near Anmer Hall and are expecting their first child.
