Bizarrely, when discussing his split from Hailey in 2016, Justin mused, “What if Hailey ends up being the girl I’m going to marry? If I rush into anything, if I damage
her, then it’s always gonna be damaged.”
Both committed Christians who worship together at the Hillsong church, a Hollywood favourite based in Australia, the lovebirds want to keep their nuptials to a modest 100 guests and have discussed hosting an alcohol-free
reception in his native Canada.
“Justin is praying for an hour every day that he can be the husband who deserves Hailey,” a church insider tells us. “He’s also praying that Selena can forgive him for all of his mistakes with her. He wrote her a long letter asking for her forgiveness. He sent it by FedEx, but she refused to open it and sent it back via her assistant.”
Pre-nup tiff?
Within hours of Justin’s romantic proposal, another sour note was struck when lawyers insisted that Hailey sign a pre-nup because her $3 million fortune pales in comparison to his $330m.
A well-placed source reports, “Divorce is one thing, but his lawyers are more terrified that Justin will never go through with the wedding and that he’ll have to compensate Hailey, like James Packer did with Mariah Carey when their engagement ended. She was quite annoyed – the
paperwork came the same day as her ring!”
Justin, however, insists his feelings are for real. He gushed on Instagram, “Hailey, I am soooo in love with everything about you! So committed to spending my life getting to know every single part of you, loving you patiently and kindly.
“My heart is completely and fully yours, and I will always put you first! You are the love of my life and I wouldn’t want to spend it with anybody else.”
Hailey tweeted in return, “Not sure what I did in life to deserve such happiness, but I am so grateful to God for giving me such an incredible person to share my life with. No words could ever express my gratitude.”
Embarrassingly, moments later, one of her old tweets from 2012 resurfaced. “Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez together is the definition of a teenage dream,” it read. “She is beyond flawless and he’s, ya know, he’s Bieber.”
