Oh-so-private lovebirds Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx are finally close to their happily-ever-after as a blended family under one roof – including having a baby of their own.
Friends of Katie, 39, have revealed to Woman’s Day that the former Dawson’s
Creek star is going all-out to conceive a baby and Jamie – once a good friend of Katie’s ex Tom Cruise – is thrilled to be building a future with the woman of his dreams. In fact, the secretive A-listers have all but signed the dotted line on a $16.5 million mansion in California!
“With her 40th birthday looming in December, Katie knows it’s now or never if she’s going to be a mum again,” spills an insider close to the Batman
Begins star. “Her work is very important to her, but family is even more important and she’s desperate to get pregnant before the end of the year.”
Whispers are already swirling that the actress – mum to daughter Suri, 12, from her doomed six-year marriage to Tom, 56 – may already be expecting a baby Foxx after she was recently snapped tenderly rubbing her stomach at a gym. And on September 20, she attended a New York jewellery launch in a scarlet gown that showed what looked like a baby bump.
But whether the broody couple have already conceived or not, insiders say Katie and Jamie, 50 – dad to daughters Corrine, 24, and Annalise, nine, from previous relationships – are well on their way to becoming a family in their secluded new Malibu mansion.
“Despite seeing each other for more than five years, they’ve never moved in together,” tells a well-placed source. “They knew that if they moved into each other’s spaces, it would always be the other person’s, so they decided to start fresh with a new home.
“Jamie’s youngest, Annalise, will live with them half the time and Suri will live there full-time. The two girls get along really well and are extremely excited at the prospect of living together. It’s something Katie and Jamie have been wanting for so long.”
The seven-bedroom, eightbathroom property, which includes a home movie theatre and bowling alley, sits on large grounds tucked away from prying eyes. Our source adds the couple intend to spend around $4.5 million on renovations to transform it into their perfect home.
“It’s a dream come true,” tells a friend. “Moving into their own place and having this baby are the final pieces of the jigsaw. They’re about to become one big, happy family. First and foremost, they want a healthy child, but with three daughters between them, they’d be thrilled to have a little boy!”
If the pair have another girl, word has it Jamie is pushing to name her Esther, after the grandmother who raised him.
The pair have gone to great lengths to fly under the radar since getting together in 2013. Sources have suggested Katie’s 2012 divorce agreement with Tom forbade her from flaunting a relationship for five years, so only in the past year have she and Jamie relaxed and truly started planning for the future.
Earlier this year, it seemed their relationship had hit the skids when Jamie was spotted partying with a bevy of beauties, seemingly back to his old single ways. But the twosome rode out the relationship low and are once again as in love as ever, although an insider says the actor has drawn the line at tying the knot.
“They’ve talked about marriage over the past couple of years and have even come close to naming a date, but Jamie could never commit,” tells the source. “They both want a baby, but Jamie has told Katie he doesn’t want to get married. It’s not that he doesn’t love her – he just thinks marriage might change things between them.”
A pal of Katie’s tells us the actress “would prefer to have a ring on her finger, but after the heartache she went through with Tom, Katie knows what’s important is the love that she and Jamie share and not a piece of paper”.
Even Tom, who starred with Jamie in the 2004 movie
Collateral, is reportedly in on the news and has sent them a note sharing his good wishes. An insider says the Mission:
Impossible star didn’t want any bad blood between himself, Katie and Jamie, and “this was his way of taking the high road”.
Meanwhile, Katie is over the moon at the thought of giving Suri a younger sibling. “Suri is very giving and caring, and Katie ie thinks she’ll be a great big sister,” r,” spills her pal. “And of course Katie has longed for a second child for years, so it’s great news for both of them. Katie has never been happier.”
