IN-CLINIC ADVICE ICE

-

If you’re serious about refreshing and rejuvenating your eye area, there are some in-clinic Botox options for treating problem areas. Dr Ellen Selkon from Clinic 42 tells us how.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Botox can be used to remove the frown lines in between the eyes. It’ll stop the frown from occurring and relax the muscles temporarily. The treatment gives the impression of opening the eyes and lifting the brow, and it can also be helpful for softening crow’s feet around the eyes. It should never be used to remove all of these lines, though, as they are expressive and show people you are happy. The third area is to elevate the brow. One of the earliest signs of ageing is a drop in the brow, so this is a treatment most of us love. Younger people can use it to accentuate their brows.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

It’s quick and easy. Patients are generally booked for 30 minutes for a good assessment – especially on their first time. The injecting process only takes 5-10 minutes.

HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?

Botox lasts for around three or four months, depending on how strong your muscles are and what dosage is used. The higher the dose, the longer it lasts. Sometimes a natural look is attained by injecting smaller amounts more frequently.
