Skincare KICKSTART

How to make the new season your prettiest

- Taryn Johnstone, Caci Beauty Therapist Trainer

The start of f November r means one thing – we’re throwing off the layers and looking down the barrel of summer fun in the sun. If you feel your complexion needs a helping hand, Taryn Johnstone from Caci shares some tips for whipping your skin into tip-top shape.

My skin feels dry and dull after winter. How can I bring it back to life?

With a bit of exfoliation – it’s one of the best things you can do to get glowing skin. It works by sloughing off the layer of dead cells that can build up on the skin’s surface to reveal a smoother, brighter new layer of skin underneath. At Caci, we offer a more advanced skin exfoliation, called microdermabrasion, which uses crystals and suction to remove dead skin cells, refine pores and promote decongestion – with instant results. This is combined with a sonophoresis infusion to provide hydration and a deeper penetration of active ingredients to suit your concerns. At home, we recommend you use products with alpha and beta hydroxy acids. The main benefit of AHA/BHAs is to exfoliate and repair dry, ageing and sundamaged skin.

What are my in-clinic options for getting sparkling skin for the summer party season?

Our Skin Health Treatment Plan gives you access to six different advanced skin procedures, which are designed to specifically target your concerns. Alternatively, our therapists can recommend treatments, facials f and peels to get your y skin glowing.

What W kind of results can c I expect?

A healthy, fresh, dewylooking lo complexion. With a regular treatment plan and using the right skincare products at home, you’ll be able to maintain hydrated skin, which results in a smoother, plumper texture.

How far out from summer should I start prepping?

There is no time like the present! It is vital to look after your skin all year round – seasons change and your skin changes with it. Plus, the clock doesn’t stop ticking with the ageing process. Our treatments at Caci can help skin cope the best way possible with all these factors.

How do I prepare my skin before a clinic visit?

There’s no need to prepare your skin! We will start off with certain treatments depending on your skin at the time as no two people are the same. Sunscreen is always a good start, but we can help you with that too.

What products should I be using at home to keep my skin looking its best?

This depends on the condition of your skin and concerns you may have. Everyone needs a good-quality SPF30 sunscreen. Living in New Zealand, we are at the mercy of our ozone layer not being in good shape. The Caci team will also help you prolong the effects of our in-clinic treatments at home.
