A face-off with her ex is ruining themagic of romance
Locking lips with new love Steve Kazee during a romantic escape in Palm Springs, it seems life is looking up for Jenna Dewan after her split from Channing Tatum.
But behind the scenes, things are apparently getting nasty as the exes finalise their divorce, with Jenna determined to take a cut of Channing’s $75 million fortune and the Hollywood hunk equally keen to not hand it over.
The actress and dancer, 37, has asked for child support for their five-year-old daughter Everly, as well as spousal support, but Magic
Mike star Channing, 38, has refused her request for the latter, despite the fact she’s legally entitled to it.
“It’s simple – she wants more of his millions and he doesn’t want to give it,” claims a family insider. “They’re done being nice. Jenna feels like she put her career on hold to start a family with Channing, while he says Jenna can make her own money easily.”
The actress, who is said to be worth $30 million, recently quit her lucrative gig as a judge on reality series World of Dance and her suspicious ex reportedly reckons she did it just to get more money out of him.
“The split is bringing out the worst in both of them,” claims a source. “She says she can’t let her emotions get in the way. At the end of the day, she knows he’s got to pay.”
The drama is a far cry from the united front Channing and Jenna presented in April, when they announced the end of their nineyear marriage. Hinting at a possible reconciliation, they said in a joint statement, “Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love each other, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now.”
Meanwhile, insiders have voiced their concerns over Jenna’s new relationship with stage actor Steve, 43, who has previously dated singer Christina Perri, 32, and actress Megan Hilty, 37, and recently asked fans for money towards renovations on his family home. A source warns, “Steve is a good guy with a tough past, but Jenna has to keep her eyes open because he’s also a player.”
