A new season of the gripping crime drama is underway and this week, Lucy Liu’s Dr Joan Watson has conflictin­g feelings over the death of her estranged biological father. 7 MY KITCHEN N RULES NEW ZEALAND SUNDAY, 7.30PM, TVNZ 2

The knives are out as the five remaining g teams head to Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour for a very special challenge during the Volvo Ocean Race Stopover. Awaiting the teams are hosts Pete Evans and Manu Feildel, and a row of BBQs! Each team will cook two dishes s to be judged by the sailors and the public. c.

5 THE X FACTOR UK FRIDAY, 7.30PM, TVNZ 1

Things are heating up on the reality singing show. Judges Simon Cowell, Louis Tomlinson, Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda must now decide the final six acts in each category. Those who make it through to the next round will be invited into one of the judges’ homes for coaching.
