Public Trust has set up a service called Personal Assist to handle day-to-day administration for older people. Clients are assigned a dedicated adviser, which allows families to spend quality time together rather than waste precious hours on paperwork. There are more than 300 services on offer. One of the unusual tasks an adviser has taken care of was to mediate over a pot-plant dispute. Everyday jobs include helping set up direct debits, managing share portfolios, checking benefit nefit entitlements, handling insurance claims, appointing litigation guardians, completing tax returns, buying medical alarms, online shopping, arranging gym memberships, organising reverse-equity mortgages, arranging meal delivery, y, clearing out possessions ns and rehoming pets.
