Pub­lic Trust has set up a ser­vice called Per­sonal As­sist to han­dle day-to-day ad­min­is­tra­tion for older peo­ple. Clients are as­signed a ded­i­cated ad­viser, which al­lows fam­i­lies to spend qual­ity time to­gether rather than waste pre­cious hours on pa­per­work. There are more than 300 ser­vices on of­fer. One of the un­usual tasks an ad­viser has taken care of was to me­di­ate over a pot-plant dis­pute. Every­day jobs in­clude help­ing set up di­rect deb­its, manag­ing share port­fo­lios, check­ing ben­e­fit ne­fit en­ti­tle­ments, han­dling in­sur­ance claims, ap­point­ing lit­i­ga­tion guardians, com­plet­ing tax re­turns, buy­ing med­i­cal alarms, on­line shop­ping, ar­rang­ing gym mem­ber­ships, or­gan­is­ing re­verse-eq­uity mort­gages, ar­rang­ing meal de­liv­ery, y, clear­ing out pos­ses­sions ns and re­hom­ing pets.
