DUCHESS IN DEMAND

-

While Meghan made a fashion statement in Merseyside last week, her sisterin-law Kate opted for a much more casual look at her own royal engagement.

Dressed in skinny jeans, a roll-neck jumper, a tweed jacket and chunky boots, the mum-of-three seemed relaxed and happy as she visited a community gardening initiative in London.

Proving she’s not afraid of getting her hands dirty, Kate joined youngsters in an outdoor pizza-making session, rolling dough and spreading on the sauce, quipping that it was “the coolest thing ever”.

When a child asked if the Queen had ever eaten pizza, a visibly amused duchess replied, “That’s such a good question – I don’t know. Maybe next time I see her, shall I ask?” When another kid mused on where Prince George and Princess Charlotte were, Kate replied, “They will be very sad that I’ve been out here making pizzas with all of you while they’re in school. George is learning about space.”

The next day, the duchess turned up the glamour on a visit to the Royal Opera House, where she donned a purple Oscar de la Renta peplum frock, last worn in 2017, to tour the costume department and watch a rehearsal of the ballet TheTwoPigeons.

Meanwhile, rumours continue to swirl about her reported feud with her sister-in-law after Meghan and Harry failed to attend Kate’s birthday party at Anmer Hall. While the Sussexes say it was a diary clash, others insist there’s more to it.

“Tension is at an all-time high,” claims a palace source. “Kate and Meghan have very little in common and try to avoid each other at all costs.”
