MEGHAN’S RAISING BUBS IN AMERICA!

Home could be the US for Baby Sussex

-

She was born in California and he’s just made the big Hollywood move of teaming up with Oprah Winfrey for a new documentary series – and now it looks like Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex’s American roots are only set to grow stronger, with the royal pair planning to raise their baby in the US!

In perhaps her strongest display of ripping up the royal rule book, a heavily pregnant Meghan – who is due to give birth any day now – has reportedly put her foot down and demanded that they bring up their firstborn in her home country.

“Meghan understands that it’s important to Harry that his child is born in England, but she also wants her baby to grow up with roots in the US,” a palace insider alleges, adding that the duchess was a driving force in Harry working with Oprah on the mental-health docos.

“She knows it’s her ticket to moving back home, at least temporarily. With the commitments that will come with the show, Meghan has been pushing Harry to agree to at least six months stateside once the baby is born.”

A California girl at heart, the duchess, 37, is reportedly desperate to spend some time with TV superstar Oprah, 65, and her other famous friends,

but her biggest motivation for heading back to her home turf is her mother Doria Ragland, 62, who still lives in Los Angeles.

“Meghan and her mum are super-close and she can’t imagine raising a baby without Doria by her side,” claims our insider. “This is what she has wanted for a long time and, as usual, it seems like she is getting her way.

“Meghan’s given up so much of her life to join the royal family and she wants Harry to learn about her background in the way she has learned about his. Besides, Meghan can’t imagine her pals in the US not getting to know her baby and this will allow her to hang out with all the people she is closest to.”

It’s no secret that since she tied the knot with Harry, 34, the former Suits star has made waves at the palace for her defiant behaviour, with Meghan accused of diva demands that have driven several courtiers to quit their jobs.

And then there’s the alleged epic feud with her sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge, which has seen Meghan and Harry separate from the household of Prince William and Kate, leave Kensington Palace for Frogmore Cottage and set up their own Instagram account, reportedly run single-handedly by the duchess.

After Meghan’s lavish New York baby shower, she and Harry talked openly about buying a property in California – and a well-placed source said, “Meghan is a passionate American at heart and she misses her home environment terribly. She has zero intention of turning her back on the country she adores. Meghan will always have America closest to her heart.”

But the confirmation of Harry’s work with Oprah has made palace staff realise a US relocation could become a reality.

Our insider claims, “The royal family wouldn’t approve of a full-time move to America, but if Harry is going to have to be in the States for this show, Meghan will use this opportunity to make California their second home. Harry really cares about this exciting project, but it’s also the best way for him to keep his family and Meghan happy.”

While it’s been a difficult road for the prince to support his wife at the same time as upholding royal expectations, he may have finally found the right balance – and it looks like this could be just the beginning of Harry and Meghan’s days overseas.

“If it were up to Meghan, they’d make the States their home base,” adds the insider. “You can bet she’ll be encouraging Harry to take on similar projects if it means that she can spend time back home. Meghan is always telling Harry that they should be writing their own rule book – and that’s exactly what they’re doing here.”
