The Easter holidays became a party of five for Jessica Simpson and her family, thanks to the recent arrival of baby girl Birdie Mae.

The singer and her husband Eric Johnson, 39, were beaming as they posed for pictures with eldest daughter Maxwell Drew, six, and son Ace Knute, five. But it was the littlest lady who stole the spotlight for her first public appearance with the family!

Jessica posted several photos of the group on Instagram, including a snap of a chubby-cheeked Birdie – who was born

on March 19, weighing a whopping 4.9kg – sleeping in a sweet floral dress to match her big sister Maxi.

And despite being busy with newborn baby duties in recent weeks, Jessica went all out with the festive spread, decking out her house with plenty of flowers, chocolate eggs and sweet treats for her Easter Sunday celebration.

The party was no doubt a fun distraction for the 38-year-old, who has been open about the challenges of adjusting to life as a family of five.

Describing the recovery from her Caesarean section as “no joke”, an overwhelmed Jessica admitted, “I think

we all get so carried away with the excitement of having a new baby that we forget that we’re going in for major surgery.

“Then on top of that, we get home from the hospital, have to recover from the surgery, balance our new life as a parent to three kids and be a wife.”

The fashion designer, who was refreshingly honest about her tough third pregnancy, has also chronicled the achievements she has made since welcoming her youngest daughter.

“This is what success feels like,” she captioned a picture of a full bottle of pumped breast milk.
